Frequently Asked Questions: AI for Kids
Choosing the right course for your child can feel confusing — especially with something new like AI. Below are clear answers to the questions parents ask us most often.
Does my child need experience with AI or coding?
No. Most students start at Explorer Level, which is made for beginners. We assume no prior knowledge and explain everything step by step, so every child can keep up and feel confident.

What if my child already uses AI tools like ChatGPT?
That’s a great start. Many children use AI, but don’t fully understand how it works or how to use it responsibly. Starting at Explorer Level helps them learn the basics properly, including safe and thoughtful use. Some students move faster once these foundations are in place.

What ages are the courses for?
Our courses are mainly designed for children aged 9–11. Some younger students may also join if they are ready and comfortable using a computer. We’re happy to discuss this with parents to make sure the course is a good fit.

Do you offer AI courses for adults?
Yes — alongside our core programmes for children aged 9–11, we also offer a separate AI pathway for adults, delivered independently from our children’s courses. You can find more information here:

Are the classes live or pre-recorded?
All classes are live, online sessions on Zoom. Students learn with a real instructor, ask questions, work in small groups, and take part in activities. These are not pre-recorded videos.

How many students are in each class?
Each class has a maximum of 10 students. This allows every child to get support, ask questions, and take part fully.

What happens if my child misses a session?
That’s okay. Every student receives the session notes and key exercises so they can catch up easily.

Will my child be safe online?
Yes. Safety is very important to us. All sessions are run by trained instructors, and we follow strict safeguarding rules. Children also learn about online safety, privacy, and responsible AI use during the course.

Do parents need to attend the sessions?
No. Children can attend on their own. Parents are welcome to sit in if they’d like, especially at the start. We also share updates so you can see what your child is learning.

What will my child learn?
Your child will learn:
-
how AI works in simple, practical ways
-
how to use AI tools responsibly
-
how to think clearly and solve problems
-
how to work with others on projects
-
how to create and present ideas
The focus is on understanding and creativity, not memorising facts.

What does my child get at the end of the course?
By the end of the course, students:
-
complete a set of AI projects
-
receive a certificate of completion
-
gain useful skills for school and future learning
They also gain confidence using modern technology in a smart and responsible way.

How is this different from school lessons or private tutoring?
Most school lessons and tutors focus on exams or basic coding. Our courses focus on future skills like creativity, problem-solving, and understanding how AI is used in the real world. The content is updated regularly as technology changes.

Is this just coding?
No. Coding is only one small part of AI. Students also learn how AI makes decisions, how to ask good questions, how to check answers, and how to build useful ideas with AI tools.

How much screen time is involved?
Classes are active and interactive. Children don’t just watch a screen — they talk, think, build, and work together. We also encourage healthy and balanced use of technology.

How do we get started?
You can begin with a free trial session. This lets your child try a class, meet the instructor, and see if the course feels right — with no pressure to continue.
